A brief history. Starting as the Dog and Partridge from 1831changed to Queen Adelaide when Landlord Joseph Ashton got his first full licence. Then, two years later the name changed to The Marquis of Granby eventually shortened by later tenants to The Granby Arms, as recorded in the cencus of 1851
